The relationship between individual choices and social responsibility is a central theme in Anand Priya Deo’s upcoming memoir, Follow Your Heart. The development professional and social entrepreneur is preparing to introduce the book at international events, including a special launch at the United Nations premises in Geneva on 13 October 2026.
Deo was invited as a panel speaker at the United Nations Social Forum in 2024, an experience that forms part of his broader engagement with international development and social issues. His upcoming Geneva launch is scheduled between appearances at the Frankfurt International Book Fair on 11 October and the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice on 16 October.
His career reflects several major transitions. After spending nearly a decade at Airtel and PepsiCo, Deo pursued two Master’s degrees in the UK and Europe. He then interned with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva before working with Medic Mobile, Grameen Foundation and Karya.
His work across Africa and Southeast Asia, together with travel to more than 70 countries, gave him exposure to diverse communities and development challenges.
In 2022, he founded the Ananda Foundation in Sikaria, Nawada, Bihar, to focus on women’s empowerment, health and hygiene, and livelihood opportunities. The initiative represents a practical extension of his interest in social change, rooted in the community from which his family originates.
Through Follow Your Heart, Deo considers how personal decisions can influence professional direction and social contribution. The memoir connects his experience in corporate life and international institutions with the belief that purpose becomes more meaningful when translated into action.
